Oklahoma Sooners predicted to flip Top 5 RB from Texas A&M

The Oklahoma Sooners have been on a roll on the recruiting trail this fall, especially as the results on the field have Brent Venables and his team inside the top 10 and on the verge of making the 2025 College Football Playoff.

Oklahoma has 22 players committed in the 2026 recruiting class, and they're not finished. On Sunday night, Rivals' Steve Wiltfong issued a prediction flipping running back Jonathan Hatton from Texas A&M to the Oklahoma Sooners.

Hatton originally committed to the Sooners back in October of 2023, as just a sophomore in high school. His recruiting took off, and he received a number of Power Four offers. He decommitted from the Sooners last December, but running backs coach DeMarco Murray kept the Sooners in the mix for the talented running back out of Texas.

Hatton is the No. 4 running back in the 247Sports composite rankings and the No. 74 player overall in the class. He has more than 30 offers, 29 of which come from teams in the Power Four. 10 SEC schools have issued offers to Hatton.

The Sooners currently have running back DeZephen Walker committed in the class, but with the number of expected departures from the running back room, the Sooners could use an influx of talent for the running back depth chart. Hatton has the size, speed, and talent to be a difference maker in year one.
