Texas A&M's four-star running back propelled Carthage High School to the next round of the playoffs with a four-touchdown performance and a 62-35 victory over the Sanger Indians.

KJ Edwards, who committed to the Aggies on June 17th, recorded 184 yards on just six carries and scored four times in a dominant performance in the second round. Texas A&M's star running back commit averaged over 30 years per carry for the Bulldogs.

According to 247Sports national recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks, Edwards is 38 yards and two touchdowns shy of setting the school record for all-time rushing yards and scores at Carthage. His contributions on the gridiron under the Friday night lights have helped the Bulldogs advance in the Texas playoffs.

The 5-foot-10, 190-pounder is ranked as the No. 3 running back in the country and No. 59 player nationally, according to Rivals recruiting rankings. Edwards is part of head coach Mike Elko's 2026 class, as he joined the list of impressive talent that has committed to Texas A&M.

Following another outstanding outing on Nov. 13, Edwards made a massive statement for Aggieland and where he stands with the Aggies:

Per the research done by Brooks for 247Sports, Edwards has rushed for 5,428 yards and 75 touchdowns at Carthage. During the open recruiting stage over the summer, storied programs across the Southeastern Conference, such as the Texas Longhorns and the LSU Tigers were in the mix, but he chose to suit up in the Maroon and White.

Edwards' visit to Bryan-College Station, Texas, before he made his decision sealed the deal, as all of the coaches surprised him with his grandparents, who Elko and company flew to Texas A&M to tour and visit with Edwards. The dedication put toward bringing him to campus led to the outcome the Aggies were hoping for. As he continues to shred defenses in the playoffs, Aggie fans across the country should remember his name entering next year's campaign.
