Rivalry week is upon us, and the college football regular season draws to a close today with a bang. With some games like the Egg Bowl, Texas-Texas A&M, and Georgia-GT already behind us, the day isn’t as totally cram-packed as it is some years. Still there’s a lot of good ones happening that have plenty of playoff implications.
The Iron Bowl is at 6:30 tonight, so let’s take a look at what to watch, why to watch it, and how to do so. The schedule is in God’s Right and Proper Central time, and comes via CFBGrid.
Must See TV
#1 Ohio State vs #15 Michigan
While the Buckeyes have locked all of their postseason spots at this point, Michigan is ranked #15 and a win over #1 in the country would give them a very legitimate argument that they should have a spot in the playoffs. The Wolverines have also made it a habit of beating OSU lately, even when they shouldn’t. The Buckeyes are tired of losing to them, and the Wolverines are fighting for their lives. This one has a good shot of becoming a spectacle.

Some good, ole fashioned hatred up north… And the Commodores are, for the first time, actually a really good program. It’s an upside down world, but it is what it is, and this one should be one of the best games of the day.
Keep an Eye On
LSU vs #8 Oklahoma
Two exceptional defenses and anemic offenses. This one will be gross…. And gross games are prone to upsets. The Sooners are one of the teams that could, hypothetically, keep Alabama out of a playoff spot in the event of a Tide loss in the SEC Championship. It’s definitely one worth monitoring.
Unwatchable Filth
Florida vs Florida State
Once a must-see matchup, these two teams are facsimiles of their former selves, and I’m not sure there’s a rivalry games I want to see less than this one.

The Domers will continue on their path of beating up on undermanned teams and pretending like they play a real schedule. Fun.
Let this post serve as the discussion post and open thread until Alabama kicks off at 6:30. Roll Tide, and happy Saturday!
