California (6-5, 3-4 ACC) has one game remaining in its 2025 football regular season. The Golden Bears will host SMU on Saturday at California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, California. Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. EST (ESPN2).
After losing at Stanford, 31-10, in Week 13, California football general manager Ron Rivera announced the Golden Bears were parting ways with head coach Justin Wilcox.

"He has always comported himself with class and professionalism. After careful consideration, we believe the time has come for new leadership. We wish Justin the best of luck in his future endeavors."
Wilcox served as California's head coach from 2017-25, compiling a 48-55 record and appeared in four bowl games. He was Tennessee's defensive coordinator from 2010-11 under head coach Derek Dooley.
