Billie Eilish and James Cameron's upcoming concert film, titled Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), officially has a release date, as she revealed on her Instagram during the last night of her tour in San Francisco.

On Eilish's Instagram, the musician revealed her project with filmmaker Cameron was ready to be seen by the world with the caption, "HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE IN 3D) coming to theatres on march 20th 2026 !!!! 🥳🥳🥳 this has been one of my favorite tours everrrrrr and being able to capture it and co-direct this film with @jamescameronofficial has truly been a dream come true. can’t wait for you all to see it :’)."

The film is co-directed by Eilish and Cameron and will be released on March 20, 2026, by Paramount, in partnership with Darkroom Records, Interscope Films, and Lightstorm Entertainment. News of the 3D concert film was revealed during her show in Manchester, England, on July 19 earlier this year.

During the concert, the two-time Oscar winner Eilish revealed she would be wearing the same outfits for her Manchester dates as Cameron worked on something "very, very special." She continued and added:

"Basically, I can’t say much about it, but what I can say is that I’m working on something very, very special with somebody named James Cameron, and it’s going to be in 3D. So, take that as you will, and these four shows here in Manchester, you and me are part of a thing that I am making with him. He’s in this audience somewhere, just saying. So don’t mind that, and also I’ll probably be wearing this exact outfit for like four days in a row."

Cameron’s company, Lightstorm Entertainment, announced it would partner with Meta to bring more 3D content, including streaming concerts, directly to Meta’s Quest VR headsets.

Eilish has released concert films and documentaries before, including Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry and Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles. She won an Oscar for Best Original Song in 2024 for the song "What Was I Made For?" with her brother Finneas for Greta Gerwig’s movie Barbie.

Eilish also appeared in the TV series Swarm in one episode as the character Eva, but hasn’t had many other acting roles before or after that appearance.
